In Memoriam Doug Turner
We mourn the passing of our friend and volunteer
On December 13, longtime volunteer, board member, trail steward, and RCT Challenge participant Doug Turner died, not long after being diagnosed with ALS. He was 64. Doug was a Baker Trail Steward for many years and was invaluable on weekend work crews. He was a champion of the Harmony Trail when he lived in Bradford Woods, and volunteered at the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge and the Baker Trail UltraChallenge. Several years ago he moved to Slippery Rock, and was helping with the North Country Trail especially in Wampum and Butler. His obituary is here.
