UPDATE: Event has been moved to the "Old Firehouse" in North Park, located between Walter Road and Lakeshore Drive. Additionally, we are now offering two hike options, making this event more inclusive. New details listed below.
Join us on our annual Winter Hike where, for the seventh year, we will be collecting socks for the needy. Please consider bringing new or gently used socks! New Information:
- The event will start (and end) at the Old Firehouse in North Park. (Directions to Firehouse: click here)
- Winter Hike "Lite" is 2.8 mile / 400 feet and it's a loop hike.
- Winter Hike "Full" is 7.4 miles / 1,000 feet and it's a loop hike.
- Depending on weather, you may need "anti-slip" shoes, something durable / with traction to help keep you upright.
An overview of the routes will be given at the start of the hike. FREE and open to everyone who consents to our Participant Agreement (no need to sign up)!
- You don't need to notify the hike leader that you plan to attend. Simply show up on time.
- Please carry water (more if the temperature will be warm) and some energy snacks (e.g. Powerbar).
- If it's hunting season, please wear safety orange.
- We will meet at the hike end point and carpool to the start point, leaving a sufficient number of cars behind to carry people back to the start when the hike is over.
- We think all dogs are wonderful, but we ask that you refrain from bringing your dog. In the case of service or therapy dogs, we will make an exception. Thank you for your cooperation.
- The minimum unaccompanied age is 12.
- Plan for hike overhead time including sign-in, announcements, car shuttling, and so forth.
- The hike is free and open to everyone.
